Heidi St. Rogers

Heidi St. Rogers graduated from the Salt Lake campus of the Utah College of Massage Therapy in March of 2000. Upon graduation, Heidi began working as an out-call massage therapist in Park City, Utah. Looking for more work experience, Heidi also began working at the Falling Waters Day Spa in Draper, Utah.

In October of 2000, Heidi returned to the Salt Lake campus, having enrolled in the Structural Integration Career Track. She graduated in December of 2000 and has implemented her Structural Integration work into her own practice. She continues to work at the day spa and has begun working as a Teaching Assistant for UCMT in the Movement and Deep Tissue classes.

Heidi recently sent the following letter to the Career Services Department of the Salt Lake campus:

"I decided to come to UCMT when I was 15 years old. My grandmother was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer by western medicine… she decided to get a second opinion [regarding her treatment] by a holistic health practitioner. He made some drastic changes in her diet and lifestyle. She is alive and doing wonderfully six years later with no trace of cancer in her body. [I] then decided I wanted to go into alternative medicine and massage was a great entry.

"I began my life at UCMT in September 1999 in class D-51. Honestly, they became my family. I made the most amazing friendships here and leaving them was not easy. Most of us are spread out over the country. I graduated in March of 2000 and set out to see what the world of massage held for me. I started doing some out-calls in Park City, Utah, then decided to work at a day spa in Draper, Utah called The Falling Waters Day Spa, located in the Treehouse Athletic Club.

"I was building a wonderful clientele and meeting a lot of potential clients when I decided to come back to UCMT and go through the Structural Integration Career Track. While working, awaiting my return to school, I ended up with a connection with a massage therapist in New York City. She has a business where production managers of famous musicians and bands call her during their tour and set up massages in different states they pass through. I am one of the two Utah massage therapists.

"I have worked on Warren G [for] the ‘Up In Smoke Tour’ and also the entire band of Stone Temple Pilots. My most recent concert was the Wide Spread Panic tour. Working on famous people is not what I had in mind… but it is an awesome experience and I have a lot of fun doing it.

"I graduated from the Structural Integration Career Track in December of 2000 and on the 1st of February opened my own practice. I also am a TA for Movement and Deep Tissue classes at UCMT and working part-time at the day spa, while doing concerts on the side. Busy girl!

"I have learned to never put limits on what you ‘think’ you want to do with this work. Many opportunities will appear if you allow yourself to let ‘things’ happen. This work is extremely rewarding and the relationships I have made along the way are irreplaceable. Thank you for getting me started."
